Sr. Technical Support Engineer – Inverter Based Products

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products (MEPPI) serves the North American power systems, rail transportation, and large visual display markets with electrical and electronic products, systems, and services.

MEPPI’s Service Center Division is looking for a Senior Technical Support Engineer with experience with inverter based products to lead technical support activities and introduction of new products and services. Conduct analyses and produce reports for internal and external audiences. Provide technical depth and knowledge to the department and mentoring of other department staff.


  • Lead technical support at the system/facility level on assigned products for MEPPI, authorized services providers(ASP) and end users. Lead research, coordination, and resolution of complex field issues.
  • Lead technical advancement of the department through creation and maintenance of support processes and procedures, troubleshooting guides and technical training. Conduct training classes for advanced product skills.
  • Participate in product launch processes and Engineering Design Reviews conducted on new products by the Divisions.
  • Lead technical introduction of new products into SCD across all departments.
  • Track specific incident issues assigned to the Divisions through completion for assigned products.
  • Create customer specific engineering review/analysis reports for customers.
  • Compile data, conduct analyses, and present findings regarding failure trends, escalated incidents, and design change recommendations. Maintain and produce incident KPI metrics for assigned products.
  • Maintain and distribute technical updates for service procedures, software releases, service bulletins and engineering change notifications to MEPPI, ASP’s and end users.
  • Act as technical liaison with MEPPI expatriates and equipment Divisions.
  • Provide technical support for Root Cause Analysis investigations.
  • Provide direct technical support and site testing. Perform and assist with technical presentations.
  • Further the goals and a positive image of the Division by conducting business with other MEPPI departments, customers, and suppliers in a timely and cooperative manner.


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with minimum of 7 years of experience providing technical and/or field support of assigned products, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of assigned product application, use, troubleshooting, and diagnostics
  • Advanced knowledge of field acceptance testing, test equipment, test reports, data analysis, safety requirements,and applicable industry standards (ex. UL, NEC, IEC, etc).
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products and MRP/ERP systems.
