How should I price my services?

I have no idea how to price my services. I'm trying not to charge so much that I lose clients, or so little that I leave money on the table.

There’s really no universal formula.

Start by looking at what competitors charge for similar work to understand the range. Then ask yourself where you sit in terms of experience, quality, and speed.

If your work is better or faster, price above the midpoint. If you’re newer, pricing slightly below is fine while you build a portfolio — but don’t race to the bottom.

Competing only on price can attract clients who choose you mainly for the lowest quote.

If you’re charging hourly, consider moving to value-based pricing when you can. If you’re saving a client $10,000 a year, charging $500 for that work undervalues it no matter how many hours it took.

Price based on what the outcome is worth to them, not how long it took you.
