Sales Operations Specialist – Power Systems

POSITION SUMMARY

MEPPI’s Power Systems Group (PSG) is looking for a Sales Operations Specialist to support and optimize the effectiveness of the sales team by developing and maintaining order and revenue projections, sales processes, and sales tools and training. In addition, this role will focus on implementing and managing all aspects of the CRM tool to maximize opportunities, pipeline velocity, forecasts, and customer engagement. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the electric utility industry with experience supporting sales operations and marketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Implement and manage all aspects of the CRM tool to maximize opportunities, pipeline velocity, forecasts, and customer engagement.
  • Develop and maintain sales toolkits and informational materials for PSG Sales and sales representatives for all Divisions.
  • Organize and develop annual sales and product training programs. Train sales staff in products, market, and processes for continuous sales excellence.
  • Develop and maintain sales forecasting for goal setting.
  • Define, document, and communicate structured sales process steps to improve conversions, shorten sales cycles, and maximize successful sales.
  • Coordinate and filter lead generation to the sales team appropriately and efficiently.
  • Work closely with marketing team to identify and develop customer outreach methods.
  • Assist sales team with account management and customer retention.
  • Support and assist with Company and Division participation in national and regional trade shows, conferences, and industry related events.
  • Manage the planning and execution of internal sales meetings and annual representative information-training sessions.
  • Support Vice President of PSG with administrative duties as requested.
  • Work with Marketing to collect and analyze PSG market data as needed.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of MEPPI by conducting business with outside contacts, internal departments, and other MEPPI divisions in a timely and cooperative manner.
  • Know MEPPI’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or communication with a minimum of 5 years of experience with sales operations with capital goods or services, or equivalent education or experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge or experience with sales or sales operations within the electric utility industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce or equivalent CRM.
  • Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required to communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Advanced computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office software.
